CTSNet Editor-in-Chief Joel Dunning spoke with Dr. Jessica Hungate about her novel pericardial patch for mitral valve replacement in the setting of mitral annular calcification (MAC), as demonstrated in “The Mitral Patch Technique for Mitral Annular Calcification (MAC).” [3]They discussed the details of the surgery, the development of this technique, and the success of this case and others. Additionally, Dr. Hungate shares insights into her video editing process and her experience as a resident at University Hospitals, Cleveland, Ohio, USA.
