CTSNet and ASAIO collaborated to host an inaugural joint live webinar on April 22, 2021, entitled "ECMO for COVID-19 ARDS." The recorded event is now available.

Mark S. Slaughter, MD, editor-in-chief of the ASAIO Journal and professor and chair of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at the University of Louisville, presents the first ASAIO Journal and CTSNet webinar. Co-moderator Adam Protos, MD, division chief of Adult Cardiac Surgery at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, along with digital moderator Ashok Kumar Coimbatore Jeyakumar, MD, assistant professor of Adult Cardiac Surgery at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, are joined by nationally recognized panelists Daniel Brodie, MD, of Columbia University, Matthew Bacchetta, MD, MBA, of Vanderbilt University, and Jonathan W. Haft, MD, of the University of Michigan. This first webinar discusses new challenges faced by all programs as a result of the current pandemic, including discussion of the evidence for ECMO in COVID-19-related ARDS, technical considerations, cannulation strategies, and devices, as well as patient selection and when to consider lung transplantation.
