The Congenital Cardiac Surgery Resident Experience: An Interview with Viktoria Weixler

At the 2023 EACTS Annual Meeting, CTSNet Editor in Chief Joel Dunning and CTSNet senior editors set out to interview the most knowledgeable CT surgeons from around the world. Stay tuned for more interviews from the meeting.



CTSNet congenital surgery editor Prof. Sameh Said spoke with Dr. Viktoria Weixler, a cardiothoracic surgery trainee in her last year at German Heart Institute Berlin in Berlin, Germany. They discussed Dr. Weixler’s presentation on complex transposition of the great arteries and how to avoid LVOT obstruction when treating the congenital condition.

The pair also talked about Dr. Weixler’s experience as a highly specialized trainee in institutions across the world, and how her training has affected her approach to the rest of her career.
