ECMO: Past, Present, and Future

Robert Bartlett, Emeritus Professor of Surgery at the University of Michigan Medical Center, Ann Arbor, Michigan, presents an informative talk on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). Dr. Bartlett is renowned for his role in developing ECMO, a modified heart-lung machine used around the world for patients with acute heart or lung failure. He reviews ECMO indications, techniques, and results in cardiac and pulmonary failure.
