Surgical Volunteer Opportunities
TSF International Medical Volunteer Scholarship
The Thoracic Surgery Foundation (TSF), through the generosity and philanthropy of the Edwards Lifesciences Foundation, is offering travel scholarships of $2,500 each for qualified cardiothoracic surgery residents and early career cardiothoracic surgeons who want to participate in international medical volunteerism (charity work) in underserved regions/populations. The purpose of the TSF International Medical Volunteer Scholarship is to provide a global cardiothoracic surgery volunteer experience for a cardiothoracic surgery resident or surgeon (within seven years of CT surgery residency completion), under the mentorship of an experienced surgeon volunteer. Each International Medical Volunteer Scholarship recipient will be matched with a TSF/Edwards-sponsored cardiac medical mission trip and serve as an active member of the volunteer team, assisting with surgery, screening, and medical eduacation for underserved patients.

Pediatric and Congenital Cardiac Service Workshops
Senior level pediatric/congenital cardiac surgeons are our team leaders. Individuals should be well versed and experienced in all types of congenital cardiac surgery from neonatal repairs for TGA, IAA/VSD and HLHS to complex re-operative surgery in addition to the routine pediatric cardiac surgical cases. Pediatric Cardiac Surgical Residents may accompany senior level surgeons to gain additional experience in complex repairs in certain locations.
Missions run throughout 2018 and include the following locations: Nasiriyah, Iraq; Karbala, Iraq; Tehran, Iran; Kharkiv and Kiev, Ukraine; Voronezh, Russia; Nizhny Novgorod; Ecuador and Lebanon.

Volunteer with The Palestine Children's Relief Fund
We are a nonprofit, nonpolitical humanitarian medical relief group building pediatric cardiac surgery programs in the West Bank and Gaza Strip by sponsoring medical missions to treat children and train local doctors and nurses. We have been working for 25 years in this field and have sponsored several past successful and safe missions with excellent results.
The Palestine Children's Relief Fund organizes multiple volunteer trips throughout the year to the Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah, West Bank, and the European Gaza Hospital in Khan Younis, Gaza.
