Program Information

• Traditional program with complete exposure to all elements of adult cardiac, aortic, and thoracic surgery
• Additional 4+3 pathway and 5+2 Vascular Cardiothoracic Surgery Residency option
• Two residents accepted per year
• Two positions available per year in the traditional program
• One position available per year in the 4+3 program or 5+2 program
• Adult cardiac and general thoracic tracks
• Residents rotate at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh for their congenital experience
• Community hospital elective during Chief year
