At the 10th Annual International Coronary Congress, Dr. David Taggart delivered a presentation on “Maintaining CABG as a Gold Standard In 2024.” He explained three cautions and key rules for interpreting trials and data regarding CABG vs PCI, five-year outcomes after PCI or CABG for left main coronary disease, and three reasons for persisting survival benefits of CABG over PCI. He also examined the fractional flow reserve—guided PCI as compared with coronary bypass surgery, long-term survival following multivessel revascularization in patients with diabetes, and percutaneous revascularization for ischemic left ventricular function.
