WELCOME Dear Colleagues, With immense pleasure, we welcome you to the 3rd International Conference on Sublobar Resections for Lung Cancer that will take place in Tokyo, Japan, on the 21st and 22nd of May, 2020. The outcomes of sublobar resections for peripheral non-small cell lung cancer ≤2 cm appear to be favorable, and several trials on limited resection for lobectomy-tolerable patients have been conducted. However, the inclusion criteria should be carefully considered to prevent local recurrence. There are various topics on sublobar resections such as ground-glass opacity nodules, management of surgical margin, spread through air space, methods of resection including precise segmentectomy and subsegmentectomy, and reduced port approach. The first conference was held in Paris in 2018, the second was in New York, and the third will be in Tokyo. As you can see, Asian countries have abundant resources in this area. Significant progress has already been made in this area, and further advances are expected in radiotherapy and other local treatments. Technologies in robotic surgeries and endoscopic devices have also been making significant advances. We hope that the meeting enables everyone to learn all about the latest technologies and to obtain fruitful knowledge. The venue is in Tokyo, Japan. We sincerely urge you to take advantage of the upcoming meeting to enjoy a memorable visit. We are confident that you will find your visit rich and memorable. We look forward to seeing you in Tokyo.
