Background

Professor Arsen D. Ristic is Asst. Director of the Department of Cardiology of the Clinical Center of Serbia and Head of Heart Failure Ward. In the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Serbia Prof. Ristic is serving as the Coordinator for Cardiology of and the Secretary of the Experts Committee for Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery. Professor Ristic is currently also a member of the Advanced Heart Failure Committee of the Heart Failure Association of the ESC and president of the Pulmonary hypertension society of Serbia.

Research

Dr Ristić published 2 books, 30 book chapters (including ESC Textbook of Cardiovascular Medicine 2009 & 2018, ESC Textbook of Intensive and Acute Cardiac Care 2011, and American Textbooks on Critical Care 2015, 2011, and 2006), as well as 131 papers in peer-review journals, cited 4858 times, with a cumulative impact factor of 418.2. Prof. Ristić delivered 72 invited lectures at international congresses including 17 lectures at the European Society of Cardiology Congresses (main arena in 2015), as well as the invited lectures at the EuroPCR, EuroEcho-Imaging, EHRA Europace/Cardiostim, and Heart Failure Association Congresses. Prof. Ristić is associate editor of BMC Cardiovascular Disorders (London, UK), and member of the Editorial Board of Herz (Munich, DE) and the International Consortium on Pericardial Diseases of the Mayo Clinic (Rochester, MN, USA).

Additional Educational Information

After graduating from Belgrade University School of Medicine with maximal grades (GPA 10/10) in 1993 and completing postgraduate studies in cardiology and specialization in internal medicine at the same University in 1998, he spent 2.5 years at the Department of Cardiology of the Philipps University in Marburg, Germany (Fellowships of the European Society of Cardiology and the World Heart Federation) where he obtained Doctor of Medical Sciences degree in 2002.
