Register Now for STS Advances in Quality & Outcomes Meeting
Learn how to improve the quality of data collected in the STS National Database by attending the 2016 Advances in Quality & Outcomes: A Data Managers Meeting, a conference offered by The Society of Thoracic Surgeons. Registration and housing are now open for the meeting, which will be held at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront in Baltimore, Md., from Wednesday, September 28, through Friday, September 30.
AQO attendees will benefit from in-depth presentations by both surgeons and data managers, who will outline practical applications of data collection and provide helpful insights into achieving quality outcomes. Sessions will focus on each of the three STS National Database components—Adult Cardiac Surgery, General Thoracic Surgery, and Congenital Heart Surgery. This year’s meeting is especially important because it will provide a comprehensive overview of the new Adult Cardiac Surgery Database data specification upgrade.
The AQO conference is designed for data managers of all experience levels, and STS also strongly urges surgeons to consider attending. Register by Wednesday, August 31, for early bird pricing; after this date, registration fees will increase by $100.
If you have questions about registration and housing, contact Amy Cacich, STS Meetings and Conventions Coordinator, at acacich@sts.org. If you have questions about the AQO program, contact Laura Medek, Senior Coordinator, STS National Database, at lmedek@sts.org.
