The RV-PA conduit or Sano modification, has recently been reintroduced into the Norwood armamentarium. Many centers, however, have been experiencing conduit obstruction with the Sano. This video demonstrates a modification of the technique used for the RV-PA conduit that has reduced the incidence of conduit obstruction at our institution. There has recently been a published report of the use of the ringed conduit for for the reduction in conduit obstruction.

This video describes a new technique for removing or sampling lymph nodes from the superior mediastinum through a left thoracotomy, without the arch mobilisation and the ductus division, on patients with left sided hilar primary lung cancer. This novel technique helps to detect the occult mediastinal disease.

This video reviews techniques of artificial chordal replacement (ACR) as a component of complex mitral repair. A brief summary of ACR history is given, as well as basic techniques of ACR placement and length adjustment. Several cases then are presented, and operative videos are correlated with pre- and post-operative transesophageal echocardiograms.
