At the 38th EACTS Annual Meeting, CTSNet Senior Editor Jill Ley spoke with Dr. Catherine Fowler, Dr. Graham Cooper, and Bob Harris, from The Aortic Dissection Charitable Trust, about the critical role of patient engagement and advocacy in advancing the treatment and understanding of aortic dissection. They discussed what The Aortic Dissection Charitable Trust is and its goals, the importance of funding aortic nurses, and the importance of follow-up appointments after aortic dissection. They also discuss Bob Harris’s personal experience with aortic dissection, PTSD and the psychological impact of experiencing aortic dissection, and creating guidelines and standards focused on aortic dissection.
