Approach to Functional Mitral Regurgitation

Hans-Joachim Schaefers of Saarland University Medical Center, Homburg/Saar, Germany, discusses the pathophysiology of functional mitral regurgitation. Dr. Schaefers stresses the importance of addressing the ventricular component of the disease to achieve a durable repair.

Very nice presentation I consider chronic ischemic mitral regurgitation as an actual cardiomyopathy state with globale LV remodeling, therefore bilateral string do even enhance the long-term outcomes Again thanks for sharing your outstanding results Cordially
