At the 2025 STS Annual Meeting, CTSNet Senior Editor Dr. Emily Farkas spoke with Dr. Dominique Vervoort about global cardiac surgery workforce planning. They discussed highlights from his presentation at the STS meeting, what we can do to build the workforce and address the capacity issues, and female representation in the global workforce. They also examined the target initiatives for cardiac surgery and advice for trainees who want to explore global health in surgery.
