At the 2024 EACTS Annual Meeting, CTSNet Senior Editor Dr. Lorena Montes spoke with Dr. Faisal Bakaeen, Professor of Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine and Director of the Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery Center at the Cleveland Clinic, about coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. They explored topics such as elective CABG procedures, innovations in the field, and the steps to become a specialist in CABG. They also discussed the various guidelines for CABG, the potential for creating a dedicated CABG specialty, and the importance of visiting centers of excellence for enhanced knowledge and skills.
