Tuesday, February 11, 2025

Yemets G. Totally 3D Endoscopic Third Tricuspid Valve Replacement. February 2025. doi:10.25373/ctsnet.28391804

This video presents the case of a 42-year-old female who had previously undergone two tricuspid valve replacement surgeries due to infective endocarditis in 2003 and 2016.
This third 3D tricuspid valve replacement, performed totally endoscopically via the periareolar approach is the first case of its kind in Ukraine.

The authors describe the details of the steps and key elements of the operation, along with the entire set up. Before the intraoperative echocardiogram, a CT scan was performed. The operation was performed via the periareolar route. The result of the operation was good, and the patient was discharged on the sixth postoperative day.

Very nice job Glib. Challenging cases sometimes when the aorta is very long and the heart rotated leftward and all you can see is the SVC and then the diaphragm. The endoscope allowed excellent visualization. Well done.
