Lung cancer has the highest worldwide cancer mortality rate. Early non-small cell lung cancer accounts for 84 percent of cases, with curative surgical intervention being the standard treatment. The authors of this paper explore the use of a patient-specific magnetic catheter at the end of a bronchoscope in order to deliver laser treatment to peripheral lung tumors.Lung cancer has the highest worldwide cancer mortality rate.
