This video demonstrates a minimally invasive mitral valve replacement using an extracorporeal telescope, or exoscope, which allows for an enhanced image of the surgical field while being more ergonomic.

In this article, the authors evaluated the practice trends and three-year outcomes following transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER) and surgical repair for degenerative MR in the United States. Medicare and Medicaid data of 53,117 mitral valve interventions for degenerative MR (surgery or TEER) between 2012 and 2019 were analyzed.

In this video, we are excited to share our latest educational innovations, including the development of a tele-simulator and a tele-simulation curriculum for endoscopic mitral valve surgery.

In this series of videos, Dr. Vincent Gaudiani shares his experience in the new field of surgery after previous TAVR and provides his tips for safely performing redo surgery for a variety of indications including TAVR early and late failure, endocarditis, and when further valve surgery is required.

This is a report on the first dedicated minimally invasive right atrial retractor for tricuspid valve surgery.

The authors used machine learning techniques on twenty-year outcome data from 436 consecutive patients who underwent mitral valve repair over an eighteen-year period. The endpoints were actuarial survival and freedom from moderate or high mitral regurgitation (MR).

In this recording from the 2023 Transcatheter Heart Valves Greece conference, Dr. Stefan Anker, a cardiothoracic surgeon, professor, and researcher at Charite Medical School in Berlin, Germany, gave the meeting’s keynote lecture. He discussed an update in research for TEER for FMR in heart failure patients.

Minimally invasive mitral valve surgery (MIMVS) is feasible and safe, but its uptake has lagged worldwide. The authors conducted a detailed survey of 75 surgeons, of whom 32 (42 percent) completed the survey. All who completed the survey performed more than 25 MIMVS cases annually.

The use of bioprostheses for mitral valve replacement is well established and steadily increasing worldwide. However, long-term durability is not well described. Accurate mitral valve bioprosthetic durability reports are necessary to set a standard against which transcatheter mitral valve replacement can be compared.
