Tricuspid valve disease (congenital)

March 26, 2021
On Friday, March 26, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the Harmony Transcatheter Pulmonary Valve (TPV) System to be used to treat pediatric and adult patients with a native or surgically-repaired right ventricular outflow tract who have severe pulmonary valve regurgitation.
April 26, 2019
Park and colleagues sought to identify risk factors that could predict the need for systemic outflow relief operations (SORO) in newborn patients with transposed great arteries and either double-inlet left ventricle or tricuspid atresia.

Cone repair is now considered standard procedure for Ebstein repair, and it is shown step-by-step in this video.
August 6, 2018
This video presents a rare Gerbode defect secondary to aortic and tricuspid valve endocarditis, along with its surgical management using sliding tricuspid valve annuloplasty.
January 15, 2018
Holst and colleagues present their experience with cone repair of the tricuspid valve for Ebstein’s anomaly in 235 patients over eight years. They conclude that cone repair is safe and effectively reduces tricuspid regurgitation, which might allow for right ventricular remodeling.
December 31, 2017
The Nationwide Inpatient Sample was evaluated to assess tricupsid valve surgery. Isolated and concurrent tricuspid surgery outcomes are analyzed.  The authors conclude that "surgical treatment of TR remains underused and is associated with high operative morbidity and mortality, prolonged hospitalizations, and considerable cost."
October 13, 2017
The authors report on the design and use of a growth-accommodating device that may have a variety of pediatric applications, including valve annuloplasty. The device consists of a biodegradable core and a tubular braided sleeve (woven much like a 'finger trap' toy).

The authors show how to perform a total correction of Tetralogy of Fallot with anomaly and pulmonary stenosis in 27-day-old male patient.
September 6, 2016
This video describes the technique of right ventricular papillary muscle approximation to the septum (RV-PMA) as an adjunct to cone reconstruction of Ebstein’s anomaly, and reviews some of the authors’ initial results.

Results of AV valve surgery in patients with Fontan circulation were evaluated over a 23 year period.  54 (9.3%) of patients requird AV valve surgery, mostly prior to the Fontan operation.    90% of patients were free from death or transplantation at 5 years; this fell to 81% at 10 years.  Nearly 45% required AV valve reoperation.  The rate of persis
