This is a highly novel way for performing an aortic root replacement, where the aorta is opened but not resected, and the coronary buttons are not harvested. Instead, the valsalva root graft is placed into the aortic annulus, and the coronary arteries are then sutured to the graft in situ without cutting the wall of the aorta.
